The second in the Fayette Area Community Concert Association series was Sunday afternoon at the Washington Middle School Auditorium. Classical concert pianist Yana Reznik is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest.
Yana Reznik was born in Russia and started playing piano at the age of six. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, and a professional Studies Certificate from the Colburn School of Performing Arts. You can see her list of music performed on the following program.
As she plays, her hands and arms are fluid with movement, and her head motions show she is really into her music and performance. She plays WITHOUT the use of any sheet music; all pieces are from memory and flow easily to her fingers.
She got a standing ovation and came back to play one more song. She then met the crowd in the lobby of the auditorium to sign autographs. She has a YouTube channel featuring many of her performances, one of which she mentioned at the beginning of her last presentation, which can be seen below.
